Huma Durrani (AThR)
Doctoral Researcher, Art Psychotherapist, & Part-Time Lecturer at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore.
10+ years of experience working with children and teens with autism, learning differences, behavioural and psycho-emotional issues.
I specialise in doing art therapy with children and adolescents with the following issues:
Autism Spectrum Disorders
Psycho-emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, aggression, bullying, low self-esteem amongst others.
My son Moeez, a young adult, with autism, is the inspiration behind my work. Hence, as a caregiver and a professional, I am uniquely placed to appreciate the challenges of raising a child with different abilities.
I have a keen interest in practice-based research in art therapy and ASD, however, my practice is not restricted to working with children on the spectrum.
I use an eclectic approach to tailor my intervention to the varied needs of my clients with a range of issues.
I conduct individual and group sessions and work closely with caregivers and concerned professionals.
